At Fuller Street, we specialize in creating custom broadcast sets and media studios for a variety of clients, including churches and ministries. Our recent project with Turning Point Ministries with Dr. David Jeremiah is a great example of how we help organizations build professional, broadcast-ready environments that enhance production quality and support a wide range of media needs. Turning Point Ministries wanted an expansive broadcast studio space to could support their growing production needs. Fuller Street was tasked with providing the physical design and construction of the space, while working in tandem with their set designer to bring the vision to life. Our task was to integrate scenic design elements with technical requirements, providing a fully functional video production studio.

Here’s a deeper look at the elements we designed and fabricated:

We built a versatile stage and custom walls to enhance Turning Point’s broadcasts, with flexible designs that adapt to various productions. We started with the designer, translating the custom scenic design into what would serve as the main backdrop for Turning Point’s video productions. This stage set included scenic walls featuring several arches. These arches allowed space for artwork, integrated bookshelves, and LED light inlays to add depth and dimension to the stage.

Choosing the right LED lighting strip solution is critical for creating a seamless broadcast experience, as it prevents the typical flicker associated with varying frame rates on different cameras.

These elements were not only designed to be visually appealing but also integrated with practical implications to ensure every piece of the design served a purpose in the broadcast setup.

We designed diffusion panels for the ceiling, which we affectionately came to calling The Clouds. These panels not only provide aesthetic appeal but also help diffuse lighting to create a better video experience. What makes that design detail great is they serve this dual purpose of the aesthetic benefit of hiding the studio lighting fixtures in the ceiling, while improving overall lighting diffusion for improved broadcast-quality video production.

The overshoot walls, located around the studio’s perimeter, add visual interest to the broadcast by creating a dynamic backdrop for video. This means that as cameras pan around for audience shots, there’s a beautiful backdrop behind the audience that equally matches the theme of the primary scenic design on stage. These custom-built walls also feature custom grill work cut by our CNC machine, adding dimension and visual appeal to the walls and making the studio feel larger and more inviting on camera.

The tiered seating risers were made of steel and mounted on wheels, offering durability and flexibility to adjust seating configurations as needed by Turning Point Ministries. This makes the studio adaptable to different types of broadcasts and productions, from live services to more intimate production sessions.
